    Hit the North

    A 12 hour endurance mountain bike race across the post industrial landscape of north Manchester. The event is open to soloists, pairs and teams of 4. The course can be ridden in all weather conditions and has a bit of everything…8.4 miles of twisty singletrack with a fearsome drop off, fast gravel sections through recently planted woodland, tunnels, viaducts, motorway crossings, railway cuttings, cobbles, a bit of tarmac and a blast through the ornamental gardens of a stately home long since reclaimed by nature. July 19th 2008. 10:00 am – 10:00 pm. Campsite open Friday and Saturday night. All proceeds going to charity, so just a firm handshake for the winner. We will have all of the usual facilities that you would expect. Chip timing, showers, toilets, camping, on site catering etc… plus a DJ to play tunes as the sun goes down.
